How SiteMonk works
One fixed-price build, then a monthly plan that looks after the site — so the technical side of your website stops being your job.
Most businesses buy a website the way they’d buy a sign: pay once, hang it up, hope it lasts. Then a year later the contact form has stopped sending, the hosting renewal lapsed, and nobody knows the password to the domain.
SiteMonk is built around one idea: you aren’t buying a website, you’re buying not having to think about your website. That comes in two parts.
Build — one fixed price
Everything from the first conversation to launch: working out what the site needs to do, structuring the pages, design, writing the copy framework, development, mobile, testing, revisions, going live, and pointing your domain at it.
The price is fixed, and so is what it includes. A written list — not a “we’ll see” — says what is part of a standard build and what counts as an add-on. Page count is the one thing that scales: a standard build includes a set number of pages, and extra pages are priced per page.
Launch — the site is yours
The site goes live on your domain. It is built as plain, fast, static pages — no server, no database, no plugins, no admin panel to keep updated — which is most of the reason it doesn’t need “maintenance” in the usual sense. You own the domain and the site.
Care — a monthly plan, not an hourly bill
After launch you choose a care plan. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of work — changes, new sections, fixes, questions — and covers the invisible part: hosting, security, keeping the site’s foundations current.
You send a request; we do it; no quote, no invoice, no clock running. If a month’s allowance is used up, further requests queue for the next month. Plans differ in how much work fits in a month, not in what kind of work is allowed.
What this means for you day to day
- You have one place to send everything. “Change the opening hours”, “add a new service page”, “the form isn’t arriving” — same channel, same people.
- You never get a surprise bill. The care fee is the whole cost. Work that would exceed a plan is a conversation first, never an invoice.
- You can leave. The domain is yours and the site is static files — it can be moved to any host. We’d rather earn the renewal than lock the door.
What this is not
It is not the right fit for everything, and it’s better you know now:
- A full online store, a customer portal, or a booking system built from scratch are software projects, not website builds. We’ll usually point you to an existing tool first (here’s how we decide), and quote custom work separately when a tool genuinely won’t do.
- Guaranteed search rankings. We build sites so search engines and AI assistants can read them properly, and our SEO service does real, ongoing work — but nobody honest promises a position on Google. Read what SEO cannot fix before you pay anyone for it.
