Welcome
Who these guides are for, and how to find what you need.
SiteMonk builds websites for small businesses and keeps looking after them after launch. These guides are the things we explain to every client — written down once, in plain English, so you can read them before you ever talk to us.
Who this is for
You run a business. You know your website matters, but you are not a developer, and you would rather not become one. You want to understand your options well enough to make a good decision — and then get back to work.
How the guides are organised
Each section is a question you might be asking, not a technology:
- Your website — what a small business site actually needs to do, and what all the jargon (domains, hosting, SSL, CMS) means for you.
- Getting found — how Google and AI assistants find a business like yours, and what “SEO” can and cannot fix.
- Tools — when an existing service (booking, reviews, live chat, newsletters) does the job, and when it is worth building something custom.
Every comparison includes options that don’t involve SiteMonk. If a $16/month tool is the right answer for you, the guide will say so.
